Restore Harmony in Your Family

Our Mission...

Our Mission is to identify the need i.e. emotional, physical, mental or spiritual and provide assistance, referrals and tools for Service Members, Veterans and their Families to live purposeful lives.

We provide resiliency classes for Service Members, Veterans, their families and caregivers assisting them with valuable communication skills that identify triggers and red flags post-deployment regardless of war eras.

College prep program (scholarships research and planning) is conducted in our Dollars for Scholars, for students grades 7-11. This program provides information, community service projects, interview techniques and networking with professionals and corporations.

A third facet of The Inspiration Center is our Counseling, Case Management and Group Therapy.

Furthermore, we offer meeting space for our collaborative partners, host, attend and facilitate workshops/seminars in surrounding counties; and provide emergency assistance, clothing and toiletries for homeless Veterans.

About the Center...

Founded as Students in Christ’s Youth Center, Inc, was established in 2000 when would be Executive Director Rosalind Harris was divinely inspired to take on a role that ensured Youth of Bexar and surrounding counties had accessible assess to social services in the northeast sector. She wanted to make sure she could introduce faith as instrument to reach all kids, families and now Veterans. Faith-based family values centered on Biblical Principles is the catalyst which makes it different from other organizations. As it was inspired by her faith, the Board of Directors renamed it the “Inspiration Center” in 2010.

As a military spouse, she witnessed the positive impact the youth programming on military bases had on her children. She wanted to create the same environment outside the gates, for everyone, regardless of social economic background for both military and civilian youth.

The Center began in Schertz with tutoring, mentoring, counseling and after school meals programs as well as nutrition and budgeting programs for families. The Center also had pool tournaments, Math and Science Summer Camps, talent shows and more. Kids came everyday, Monday through Saturday, and Parents of participating youth were pleased to see their improvements in school.

After five years, the Center was invited by Northeast Baptist Church to use their old daycare. The Center worked with apartment complexes in the area to provide programs for the neighborhood. The Center’s programs included Parenting, Grief Share, Divorce Care, Divorce Care 4 Kids; and Financial Classes, Angel Food, which provided people there in need of food to last for a month during holidays. Other programs provided clothing to women who were trying to get back on their feet through high end shopping; Mary Kay facials; and clothing at God’s boutique using a voucher that resembled a gift card in an effort to restore their dignity.

Five years later in June of 2010 the Inspiration Center moved to its current location in the heart of Northeast San Antonio. The Inspiration Center is now a 3000 sq. foot facility that provides a comfortable homelike environment with state of the art equipment to house the programming that can change the lives of Service Members, Veterans and their Families.

Our goal is to promote an all services hub for other secular and faith-based agency partners in an environment that will demonstrate basic care; creating a homelike atmosphere where the families’ social, mental, physical, recreational and spiritual need are addressed, met and goals achieved. Our position as a counseling, referral and information hub; and networking within the faith-based and secular community, is an integral part of achieving this mission.
